Hotel Sliema Marina (Sliema, Malta)

Malta is just 27km long and 14km wide and, with the 'Sliema Ferries' bus stop directly opposite and a ferry terminal within yards, you can explore a large part of it with relative ease.

With its location on the seafront, Sliema Marina boasts stunning views across the water towards Valletta Bastions. You can enjoy it from your room should you opt for the sea view or superior option or, failing that, from the dining room at breakfast or the rooftop jacuzzi.

One of the best things about the hotel, for most, is that the staff are friendly and helpful. You are assured a warm welcome, and the team are always on hand; with the front desk manned 24-hours a day.

For many guests who have chosen to book a standard room, it is not a choice they would make again. Rooms are small and dark, with little in the way of natural light so, while they may be a good choice if you are looking for somewhere to simply lay your head, if you'd prefer something more comfortable, the upgrade to a sea view may be advisable.

The hotel is, on a whole, fairly modern and kept very clean. For some guests, however, the bathrooms are dated and could benefit from being replaced to bring them up to the standard of the rest of the building.

One downside to the hotels convenient situation is that the road beneath is a busy one, with previous guests suggesting that noise disturbance can be a problem; particularly for rooms on lower levels. Light sleepers are advised to request a room on a high floor.
