Hotel Villa Royal (Florence, Italy)

The hotel has an antique charm to it and boasts an old-world feel with it’s architectural design. Guests really enjoyed the décor and the fact that it’s located a bit off the beaten path.

For the price paid, Hotel Royal is a great budget hotel for those that are OK with basic amenities and aren’t after a 4 or 5 star type stay. It’s located ten minutes walk to city centre and near many good restaurants and a mini market. It’s also being newly renovated to offer guests an even more enjoyable stay.

Some guests have coined the Hotel Royal a home away from home. With it’s antique design and being set in an old mansion they felt comfortable being away from the hustle and bustle of the city but in a more traditional setting. The vibe given was more like a house than a modern day hotel.

There were quite a few reviews commenting on the rude management and receptionist staff at the hotel. It seemed some people working there were annoyed by the presence of guests and weren’t too eager to go out of their way to help them. A few guests stated they got a cold vibe from those working there.

The food at Hotel Royal was said to be low-quality, instant type breakfast foods and beverages. Guests wished that more fresh food or traditional Italian options were offered, as it would’ve fit the theme of the hotel better. Many people decided to head to other restaurants in the area than eat at the hotel.

Some guests were disappointed by the size of the rooms compared to what they saw online when booking. They felt for what they paid and what the website claimed to offer that the rooms were unreasonably small and uncomfortable.
