If you haven't got breakfast included in your room rate, guests say that it seems overly expensive, and it feels like you have to eat a lot to get any kind of value for money. If you're not a big breakfast person, you might want to try a local cafe instead.

To be fair, hospitality trays are not really part of the hotel culture in Italy, so you'd be hard pressed to find one in most hotels. Still, it's an annoyance for many guests, and if you can't live without your morning cuppa, take provisions.
