That essential highway is very close but there’s an office block between it and the hotel. Consequently, there’s little or no traffic noise in the hotel rooms.

Rooms are well furnished and attractively decorated. They are comfortable with quite a bit of space. The air-conditioning is effective but they tend to turn it off when you aren’t there. It takes some time to get back up to speed when you return.

Members of staff are pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast is continental and unremarkable-but OK. Nightlife and family-based attractions are just a few minutes away and just along the road are restaurants and fast-food outlets.

It seems strange that during the obvious upgrading of rooms, they missed the opportunity to include a coffee maker. That would have been nice.

It’s an old building, so any upgrading is limited by that factor. Currently the outside needs to be made more attractive and while it is outside anyone’s control, the immediate area gives rise to some concerns. It isn’t particularly impressive. There are reported break-ins into vehicles in the car park. This is despite the presence of CCTV cameras and the fact that the car parking area is well-lit at night.

Power sockets don’t work. Bed linen is sub-standard with cigarette burns. They seem to be skimping on bed linen. There’s a minimal amount on the bed and no additional supply in the room. Sheets aren’t changed daily but, at these prices, it would be unreasonable to expect anything else.
