Guests appreciate the basics that are adequately covered at this hotel – having a nice, spacious room, a comfortable bed with nice pillows and a quiet location. They are all ingredients for a good night's sleep.

The breakfasts go down really well with the guests. Not having to pay extra certainly helps with the digestion, however, so does the quality and diversity. Guests like the choice available and being able to make your own waffles.

The staff seem to be a credit to the hotel, according to many guests. They are friendly and helpful and very polite on the whole.

Guests think (or hope) that the hotel has seen better days. It is feeling old and worn and everything seems to be falling apart. The aging elevator creeks and makes strange noises, whilst a whole host of fittings seem to be on their last legs. Shower-rods, curtain rails, chairs, hairdryers, irons, smoke alarms, toilets, sinks – you name it, a previous guest has probably called maintenance to fix it.

Lots of guests get exceptional deals on their stay that, on the surface, seem unbeatable. However, when guests find what they've got awaiting for them, they often have a different opinion. For the standard of the accommodation they get, many feel at the end of the day that they have been overcharged!

The hotel is supposedly non-smoking. However, guests often comment that their rooms have a strong smell of smoke and can sometimes detect marijuana in the air. It is not just smoke that gets up guests noses, there are also many other odors filling the air – including musty smells.
