For a budget choice, the rooms are very clean and have comfortable bedding. All the features are in good working order and the breakfast has many hot and cold choices. Add in an indoor swimming pool and suites with fireplaces and balconies and you're getting a real bargain.

The suites are a nominal increase over the regular room rates, but either rate gives a great value. The hotel is a short drive from the city of Rochester and alllows for cheaper rates without losing any real value in the location. Rates are even cheaper is using the nearby Mayo Clinic so be sure to inquire. There are also shuttles to the clinic on a regular basis.

The staff here is friendly and helpful to guests, especially those who need to use the nearby clinic. Management ensures that business practices are efficient and are very accommodating for special requests.

The hotel has been here awhile and that is starting to show in the appearance and ambiance. Overall, it looks a bit used with scratches and dents in furniture. The carpets are stained and torn. There are no real modern features.

The exercise room has only two pieces of equipment in it, one being a stationary bike. At times, even one of those is inoperable. It seems as if the room is there only for bragging purposes and it's clearly not intended to give guests the ability to exercise.

While the rooms are clean and sanitary, the same cannot be said of the common areas of the hotel. Trash cans are overflowing and clean towels aren't always available in the pool area. The breakfast area can be dirty and isn't properly maintained during busy breakfast hours.
