Hotel Quality Inn Harrisburg Hershey Area (Harrisburg, USA)

No complaints on the staff front. They are very friendly, efficient and more than happy to sort you out with advice and directions on local shops, restaurants and places to visit.

Breakfast is a really pleasant surprise and well in excess of what you might be expecting. All the continental stuff is here but, in addition, there are hot dishes in the form of waffles, eggs, sausages etc.

From this hotel, you are sitting pretty for short car trips to shops, restaurants and local tourist attractions. The hotel itself is very clean and represents good value. There are restaurants nearby and a diner next door .. so no-one is going to starve!

The hotel is conveniently close to the Interstate, but at night, even with the noisy air conditioning on, you can still hear the traffic.

Non-smoking areas and rooms smell of ... smoke! There's mold in the bathroom and in addition to the inexplicable smell of urine, the overall result is a massive turn off! There's another appalling pong in the elevator. So plenty of smells here + none of them are pleasant! If you come armed with an air freshener; that can only be a good thing.

Towels are stained and have a strange smell. The breakfast area is cramped, overcrowded and lacking in procedures to replenish menu items. Pull-out beds have ageing mattresses with springs that are trying to escape. It's all very 1970s, with elements which seem not to have been touched since that time. Staff members are OK but absent quite a lot from the front desk. Bedroom curtains, annoyingly, don't meet in the middle.
