Located just 100 yards from the city’s ancient fortifications, Point De Vue Guesthouse offers tastefully renovated rooms with lovely period features in a terrific location. With cool tile on the floors, and exposed stonework on the walls the rooms at Point De Vue offer a private little oasis in the heat. All rooms feature private bathrooms and cable TV, while air conditioning is available at an extra charge. Point De Vue is a small guest house with few public facilities, but Wi-Fi is available on-site. A full English breakfast is included every morning, while for other meals the on-site restaurant has a varied menu specialising in Continental and Maltese cuisine. The walls of the Mdina are just across the road, while the Dingli Cliffs are just 3.5 miles away. The ferry port in Valletta is six miles from the guest house.
Not only guests of the guesthouse, but many other besides, sing the praises of the on-site restaurant. The food is described as excellent, and the portions more than generous. The wait staff also comes in for a lot of praise, with guests commenting that they go above and beyond to try to meet any reasonable request.
Many guests have come, at least in part, to see Mdina, the ancient walled fortress. Guests find the location of Point De Vue ideal, since it is only a few steps from one of the fortresses gates.
While some guests did have difficulty getting a parking bay, it seems that most did not, and are quite happy that there was free parking available so close to their guest house.
While this is stated on the guest house's website, it is of course quite possible that it could be missed. A couple of guests got a rather rude awakening when they found an air conditioner in the room, but then discovered that the only way to get it to work was to pay an extra fee they had been unaware of.
A surprising number of guests had problems with the showers in their rooms. Often the issue was that they were too small to shower comfortably, but there were also comments that the floor sloped in the wrong direction, thus flooding the bathroom floor.
Though not a common compliant, it seems that a few rooms directly above the restaurant can get a bit noisy at night when people party in the restaurant.
