About Orchardton Castle

Silent and healing, Orchardton welcomes travellers of all sorts and their pets. We only have a couple of bookings at a time and you are treated as if the castle is yours. We try to make sure that your stay with us is as good as it can be. We have a family suite overlooking the sea, Sunrise Suite. and a Super King size in Sea View. We can cater for you in the evening or you can relax and enjoy the tranquillity. We have television in the drawing room which also has Netflix and XBox should you wish to use them. In the cinema we have Wii and you are welcome to bring your own films. We are happy to set these up for you. For those who are more energetic, we have a table tennis room and Karaoke can be provided. We do not have television in the room unless requested beforehand. Whether you want a quiet retreat or an entertaining break, we can handle it with the utmost privacy. Pets welcome. By staying here you are also helping us to restore a great building with still a wing to go. Parking is no problem, but there are many stairs here at Orchardton. We are happy for you to join us for dinner, let us know your favourite dishes or let our chef, who specialises in Vegan and vegetarian take care of you. We are ideally placed for day trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Carlise or Belfast - all within 90 miles. Locally we have the food town of Castle Douglas and the artists town of Kirkcudbright. (pronounced Kircuberry) 6 miles away is 7 stanes Cycling and we are surrounded by the most beautiful walking and hiking.
