Hotel Number 11 (Bruges, Belgium)

The quiet location of this guest house is quite incredible. As quiet as you would expect a countryside retreat to be - and yet, here you are, in the very heart of Bruges. The building itself is inspiring and whilst it features all the modern facilities we now can't do without, the history shines through wherever you look. The charm and authenticity are even found in the rooms where exposed beams serve as a reminder of centuries gone by. A truly remarkable location and building.

Everyone is very welcoming and helpful. They seem to share your delight with the atmosphere, facilities and central location that the guest house enjoys. Members of staff are never over attentive (OTT!) though… just there if you need them.

Rooms are good and spacious. Beds are extremely large and comfortable. Rooms are also beautifully decorated and in total sympathy with the history of the building. Some rooms offer sensational city views and lovely works of art are in evidence at every turn. It's tempting to lash out and book in to the luxury suite. Here, you'll have a private sitting room, kitchenette … and your own private entrance. Worth a thought? There's plenty more food for thought here, too. Breakfast is truly excellent and forms the perfect start to any day.
