This hotel proved popular with visitors for its convenient central location in the heart of downtown Montreal. Sightseers were about 15 minutes' walk from Old Montreal while three metro stations were reachable within ten minutes on foot. It was also just around the corner from Catherine Street for shopping and dining or Crescent Street for nightlife.

There was plenty of praise from reviewers for the multilingual staff, who were described as friendly and helpful with a can-do attitude. Families who left reviews often felt their needs were well catered for too. In the restaurant, reviewers were largely positive about the well-cooked dishes and variety on the wine list. Breakfast was a hit with many diners too.

Most reviewers were pleased with their rooms, describing them as clean and comfortable with cozy beds. On the whole, guests found the rooms to be relatively quiet for a downtown hotel.

Guests were sometimes disappointed to be asked to pay for in-room high-speed Wi-Fi access. However, a basic Wi-Fi network was free to use in the rooms while the high-speed service was free in public areas. Nevertheless, with both services there were occasional reports of a patchy signal and slow speeds.

Some rooms had been more recently refurbished than others, according to certain reviewers. The older rooms were criticized for issues like aging decor, tired-looking furniture, worn carpets, occasional musty smells and mold in bathrooms. The newer rooms, however, were praised for their fresh look.

A parking lot beneath the hotel offered guests preferable rates. However, as it was open to non-guests too, sometimes motorists were disappointed to discover the car park was full on arrival, prompting them to search around for an alternative.
