The rooms are sleek, modern and feature one of Microtel’s newest design schemes. They are also very well equipped with all the regular amenities, including microwaves and minibars in most rooms. The lovely outdoor pool and deck are undoubtedly the stars of the show, but more active guests will also find a fully equipped fitness center, where they can continue their workouts uninterrupted. Those who have been on the road a while can make use of the guest laundry. While a simple continental breakfast is served every morning, there are a couple of good dining options in the neighborhood for the other two meals, including Golden Chopsticks, a popular restaurant serving a variety of Asian cuisines. Downtown Columbus is just four miles to the west.
By far the most compliments related to the cleanliness of the rooms. Guest after guest mentioned that the rooms were simply spotless when they checked-in, and that housekeeping did an excellent job making sure that they remained that way during the course of a stay.
Guests absolutely loved the location of the hotel. The fact that it was right off the interstate was the most commonly cited reason. Guests simply found it extremely convenient to be able to quickly access the highway and be speeding off to their destination.
Guests were pretty satisfied with the breakfast offered, saying that, despite being a relatively simple meal, it had all they wanted and set them up for the day ahead.
Guests weren’t very impressed with laundry facilities available. They had clearly been expecting a self-service laundry were they could get their clothes clean and fresh at a reasonable price, but found that this wasn’t available. Only the more expensive options of dropping the laundry off at the reception and picking it up the next day was available.
There seemed to be quite a bit of confusion regarding in-room microwaves and minibars. Guests in all rooms were clearly expecting these, perhaps as a result of representations on third party booking sites. Unfortunately, while most rooms at the hotel do have them a small number do not. Those in one of these rooms were very disappointed.
Many guests reported that they could easily hear sounds from adjacent rooms, even normal sounds like people talking, making the quality of their sleep dependent on the good manners of their neighbors.
