Staff members, in the main, are friendly. Generally, though, they seem subdued and not entirely happy with the hotel they work in. Breakfast is surprisingly good. This meal and the friendly staff are highlights of the stay.

Rooms are actually quite clean but it is clearly an impossible task to breathe new life into old furnishings and threadbare carpets.

Very handy for graduation ceremonies and the fact that the hotel is pet-friendly, means that all the family can come along.

Rooms aren’t cleaned regularly and when someone does turn up, they just change the towels and move things around a bit. Consequently, rooms are dirty and smell musty and humid. Similarly, the corridors and elevator leave much to be desired. Internet is ‘patchy’ – VERY patchy! Still, it’s an excuse to go across to Burger King and work there. If really unlucky, you are liable to find that the pool water is a turgid green in color; fitness equipment is broken and the business center’s features don’t work.

Finding the hotel in the first place isn’t easy. Outside signage needs urgent attention. Then, when you do find it – you may ... possibly ... wish that you hadn’t!

The neighborhood is in sharp decline. Some very suspect characters hanging around. It seems that among the things that can go missing is the basketball court … no sign of it anywhere. In keeping with its unattractive surroundings, the exterior of the hotel isn’t well maintained and patio furniture is broken and dilapidated.
