Decent breakfast offered
The breakfast was a surprising hit among the guests. Though a fairly simple continental style offering, they felt it had enough variety and quantity to give them a good start to the day.
Located just a short distance from both Florence’s train station, and its historic core, Mia Palace B&B offers newly renovated accommodation to those travelling on a budget. The light and airy rooms are tastefully furnished, and feature en-suite bathrooms, hairdryers, flat screen TV’s, work desks and minibars. Mia Palace is a small property with limited public facilities, but there is a small lounge area with computer terminals for guests to use, and staff can arrange luggage storage on request. A basic Italian breakfast is available in the bright breakfast room every morning. Reception staff will be happy to offer great local dining recommendations for the other meals. The station is just 0.8 miles from Mia’s, while the Duomo and Uffizi are a little more than a mile away. The not to be missed Ponte Vecchio is a 0.9 mile walk away, all along the banks of the Arno.

While not in the centre, it was said to be about 25 minutes away on foot with a nearby bus heading that way as well. Guests did not seem to feel left out of the activities, and believed they got a better room-rate than they would have in a more central hotel.
Guests mentioned that the staff members they interacted with seemed very pleasant and friendly. They were also said to be very willing to help guests out with the inside scoop on Florence.
This was perhaps the most common, and most serious, complaint. Guests reported that the B&B is on a busy road, and that the street noise did disturb their sleep. It was said the noise was particularly bad in the mornings.
A couple if guests mentioned that there were stairs to climb to get to the B&B, and no lift available. Those with mobility issues may struggle at this location.
There are no permanent staff members on-site, so if you cannot arrange a time to meet the host at the property you need to collect the keys from another property some distance away. Guests found this to be a bit of a nuisance.
