This unique resort complex is situated in a Mediterranean forest near to the vibrant Spanish resort of Tossa de Mar. The Hotel Medplaya San Eloy has a range of room types, including standard double rooms, studios and apartments. A standard double room has an en-suite bathroom, fridge, balcony, satellite television and a safe at extra charge. Studios and apartments have the added benefit of a kitchenette. There are three swimming pools, mini-golf, a tennis court, a basketball court and a supermarket. The buffet style restaurant serves a variety of local and international dishes and there is also a large terrace bar. All inclusive packages are available. Although situated within a forest, Tossa de Mar beach is just two and a half kilometres away. The nearest airport is Girona in the Costa Brava, which is approximately 40 kilometres from the Hotel Medplaya San Eloy.
The complex has a range of facilities, including three swimming pools which are very spacious and kept very clean. There is a restaurant, a snack bar and shop so there is always somewhere to get a drink and some food.
The entertainment team work very hard to provide activities for adults and children, both in the day and on an evening. They are friendly and able to converse in multiple languages. The entertainment is varied and enjoyable. Staff across the complex have been complimented on being welcoming and always on hand to help.
Rooms are spacious and have everything you need for your holiday. They are cleaned regularly to a high standard. There are also various different room types to suit all budgets and all group sizes.
The rooms don’t seem to have air-conditioning and this is an area where guests feel that it could be improved. The hotel does have fans available to rent but these can get booked up, particularly in high season.
Guests have reported that they have had to queue to get into the restaurant at busy times. Not only has this been a source of frustration, but they have also not appreciated having to queue on outside stairs which they feel is slightly dangerous and also open to the elements.
Some guests have described food as simply average and felt that the food is quite plain adding that more local dishes would be appreciated. As well as needing more variety a lot of past guests have said that the food wasn’t particularly healthy, so they would like to see more nutritious food offered by the hotel.
