If guests do not wish to eat in, a short stroll from the hotel will take guests to the main street in Port Douglas where there are over 30 restaurants and cafes to choose from for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A trip to Port Douglas is not complete without a visit to the Great Barrier Reef or the Daintree Rainforest which are both an easy day trip by car from the hotel.

Central Location

The hotel is at the end of the Main street in Port Douglas and guests commented that it was an easy walk to the many restaurants and bars on Macrossan street.  The Marina is also only a short walk from the hotel.

Value for Money

A number of previous guests commented that they thought that the hotel represented good value for money when compared to other hotels in the area, considering the amount of space in the rooms and how well the rooms were appointed.

Massive Balconies

The rooms have been decorated in an old 'Queenslander' style and each has a generous balcony which has also been styled as though it was a balcony akin to a rurual property in the outback. Many guests loved the size of the balconies which gave them ample space to relax and enjoy their afternoons.

Limited Services

Guests who took out their own trash and had trouble finding staff to request additional amenities were a little disappointed int heir stay. Guests with mobility issues also commented that the lack of lifts did not help them to freely move about the hotel, complaining there were too many stairs.

Guests who where a little disappointed in the furnishings and the overall amenities of the room commented that they thought that the hotel could use an upgrade. Guests who liked to cook also commented they would have like more utensils in the kitchen.

Noisy Hotel

The hotel is adjacent to a popular pub and a number of previous guests complained via their reviews about the noise well into the early morning from reverlers who were at the pub. These reviews were less than positive as these guests did not get a good nights sleep.
