After a whole year of work, a wine cellar, a stable, a kitchen, a bedroom, a hay loft and an attic have been transformed into a comfortable Maison with an old-style feel, using natural wood and stone in the ancient tradition of the Aosta Valley. Six comfortable rooms whose names evoke their original purpose; a place to rediscover inner peace. The Maison Dominique is located in the ancient village of Maè, set in the magnificent Ayas Valley, which at 1100metres above sea level is considered by many to be Europe’s most beautiful. It faces a fabulous view of the Castle of Graines, and is surrounded by the peaks of Mont Nery and the Dame de Challand, and countless Alpine huts, farmsteads and mountain lakes. Walking, mountain biking and horse-riding routes ranging from easy to medium-difficult lead down the valley towards Verres, among chestnut and broad-leaved woods around the ruins of Villam castle, its lake and natural waterfalls, or up the valley towards the former gold quartz mine at Bechax, on trails that follow medieval irrigation channels through coniferous forests all the way up to the majestic glaciers at the foot of Monte Rosa.
