The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean, with all the basic amenities necessary for a pleasant stay. You'll especially appreciate the fast and free Wi-Fi. The shared bathroom is clean, well taken care of, and has a huge shower, which many guests complimented.

Luz has a good, convenient location, walking distance to most major parts of San Francisco. Union Square and Chinatown are about ten minutes on foot. If you choose to travel without your car, there is a bus stop next to the hotel and a BART station just down the street. In addition, there are plenty of dining options, grocery stores and nightlife near the hotel.

There are no elevators on the hotel grounds. If you have heavy luggage, or trouble with stairs, you may want to call ahead to inquire about the accessibility of the rooms.

Guests thought some renovations are necessary within the rooms, especially some cosmetic touch-ups. The furniture also looks a bit outdated and could be replaced, and soundproofing could be improved. Fortunately, the hotel is already in progress of renewing some of the rooms.

The only downside of the shared bathroom area is the low water pressure and the lack of hot water. Guests say they sometimes ended up finishing with a lukewarm or cold shower.
