The star attraction for the guests seemed to be the city itself. By being at its centre, Locanda Cairoli offered guests the opportunity to explore the city on foot, without having to deal with long train or metro rides.
Surprisingly perhaps, there were many positive guest comments related to the breakfast. It is taken in a small room and was said to be varied and more than sufficient to see guests through to lunch.
A large number of guests say something to the effect that the star rating is grossly exaggerated, and this in turn causes prices to be inflated far beyond what they feel the property deserves. It's fair to say that many guests believed they received very poor value for money.

The hotel is described as being right on a busy tram route, and whenever a tram passes it creates both noise and vibrations in the rooms nearby. There are some rooms a bit further away, so light sleepers should perhaps try to secure one of these.
