Located in the heart of ancient Rome, between the Pantheon and the Coliseum, Kame Hall is an elegantly restored 15th century property and offers guests luxury accommodation in the heart of the city. There are only four rooms, all of which are fully refurbished and furnished to a high standard. Each features en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, flat screen TV, hypoallergenic bedding and seating area. Kame Hall is a small establishment and there are not many public facilities. There is a small guest lounge and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. A small Italian breakfast is served daily, but for other meals the hosts will be happy to offer excellent local dining recommendations. Kame Hall is situated near the ancient centre of Rome, so those sights are all nearby. The Pantheon is 600 yards away, the Coliseum a mile and the forum 800 yards. The incredible Vatican Museums are 1.8 miles from the B&B.
Guests describe the location as good for sightseeing, but also a bit away from the tourist throng. The area was said to be the city's Jewish ghetto in times past, but has not yet been totally gentrified - something many appreciated.
There was not a bad word to be found about the owners and staff to be found anywhere. On the contrary, guests went out of their way to praise Larry, Dennis and Andrea in the way they ran the small B&B. From the welcome at check-in, to the quality of the breakfast, they were all said to do their bit, and more, to make sure everything ran smoothly.
A surprising number of guests expressed their astonishment with the size of their rooms. Being in the centre of a city such as Rome they had definitely expected a much smaller room. They were very pleasantly surprised.
Firstly, it has to be said that the reviews of Kame Hall were simply overwhelmingly positive. Even those raising the odd negative point seemed to be very pleased with their stay in general. That being said, there were one or two people who had problems with the Wi-Fi. Usually, a word with the hosts would be enough to straighten things out.
Though not mentioned by many people, the location is very central, and a couple of guests said it could be quite loud, especially during the day.
Since Kame Hall is such a small establishment there are were times that there was nobody at reception. Most of the time this didn't present any problems, but on occasion a guest had a query and found that there was nobody on hand to help.
