Situated well within walking distance of famous Calangute Beach, Lambana Resort is a boutique property with a lovely pool terrace offering guests comfortable accommodation. The 24 rooms are well furnished, with evocative Indian fabrics used in the decoration. Each features en-suite bathroom, private balcony, air conditioning, TV with satellite channels, minibar and tea/coffee station. The central feature at Lambana Resort is undoubtedly its very lovely pool terrace, which has all the usual sun loungers and other facilities. Reception is on hand to assist with tours, transfers, laundry and car/moped rental. There is a generator to supply power 24/7 during the frequent power outages in the area. The on-site multi-cuisine restaurant serves a broad range of Indian cuisines, as well as Chinese and international favourites. The main attraction is Calangute Beach, barely 700 yards away. Goa international airport is about 24 miles to the south. Candolim and its popular beach are 2.5 miles from Lambana Resort.
Naturally it was the location, just a couple of minutes' walk from Calangute Beach, that most impressed guest about Lambana Resort. Guests had come to Goa for the beach, and the atmosphere that could be found there, and were very happy to be so close to the object of their travels.
A couple of guests seemed enormously relieved that the TV in their room had many English language stations available. While they obviously hadn't come to Goa to watch TV, they liked having it available for the odd time they just wanted to relax and be entertained.
Several guests expressed their relief that their room both contained and air conditioner, and unlike some other places, there was no additional fee to use it. It certainly helped them be a little more comfortable on those hot, sticky days.
It was very difficult to find a kind word written about the breakfast. Guests seemed to get the impression the hotel was just going through the motions so they could say breakfast was supplied, but the food was described as meagre and very poorly prepared.
A few guests pointed out that there is no lift in the building. For those on the upper floors, it could be quite tiring waking up and down to their rooms multiple times per day. There are some rooms on the ground floor, so guests with mobility issues should try to secure one of these.
While mattress firmness is, notoriously, a mater of personal taste, the complaints about bed comfort seemed to go a little beyond this. For reasons that weren't fully explained, many guests found the beds a bit uncomfortable.
