Located a couple of streets back, but just a short walk from Goa’s famous beaches, the Hotel Ticlo Resort Resort offers guests a quieter and more peaceful Goa experience. Both deluxe and standard rooms are available. They are simply furnished, and both feature satellite TV and in-room safes. Deluxe rooms are larger and also feature air conditioning. There is a lovely pool terrace to cool down at while experiencing live entertainment. The ayurvedic spa features massage, beauty treatments and therapeutic procedures. Tickles Restaurant features a wide range of cuisines, including Chinese, Indian and Western, while the Desafinado Bar is the chic place to enjoy a cocktail when the sun goes down. Goa’s internationally famous Calangute Beach is just 5 minutes’ walk from the resort, while the more sedate Baga Beach is 20 minutes away. Goa’s airport is 23.5 miles to the south.
By far the most mentioned positive aspect of the resort is that it is within easy reach of Goa's famous beaches. Though a couple of streets back, guests did not seem to be at all bothered by this. In fact, some preferred the location since they perceived it as being a bit calmer and quieter than right by the beachfront.
For the majority of the guests, the on-site restaurant seems to be a hit, rather than a hit and miss. They particularly seem to appreciate the wide variety of cuisines available.
Several guests comment that they booked the hotel because it seemed to offer good value compared to what else was available in Goa. After experiencing the hotel they seem to be satisfied that their initial impressions were borne out in reality.
Going by guest comments, it seems that rooms, even if in the same booking class, differ quite a bit in how attractive they are. What comes up again and again is that there are rooms facing the back of the resort that have especially poor outlooks. Guests booked into these rooms were naturally unhappy.
Curiously, Wi-Fi is only available very limited hours at the resort, 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM. The reason for this is unknown, but guests who have an urgent need for constant connectivity should take note.
Quite a few guests comment that the exterior of the building looks a bit worn, and it doesn't give the best first impression. Nothing structural is mentioned, it's more a case that they thought it needed a scrub and a coat of paint.
