Hotel Lakehouse Resort (San Marcos, USA)

The rooms have been described as nicely decorated and guests were pleased to find that their accommodation was larger than they had expected. Apart from the modern and pleasant decor, many also appreciated having all the necessary mod-cons in their rooms including quality coffee makers and fridges.

The resort is located on the shores of a lake which provides a very peaceful and scenic backdrop. It is set within a quiet urban district, surrounded by private houses and there are no noisy bars or clubs in the vicinity. Guests thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on their balconies listening to the birds and admiring the wonderful scenery.

Guests were pleased to find lots of cafes and even a supermarket within walking distance of the resort. Many also found the proximity to the lake very convenient and being able to hire boats at the resort. Other local attractions including Legoland are just a short drive away.

Those whose rooms looked out onto the pool area objected to the level of noise made by guests who chose to stay at the pool until late at night. The noise was described as quite intrusive and prevented some guests from opening their balconies.

Some of the guests said that the carpets in their rooms were not properly cleaned and that they could smell the dust and debris which had permeated the carpets. Others noticed unclean and stained upholstery in their rooms which prevented them from fully enjoying their stay.

As the lake is in close proximity to the resort, guests reported that there were swarms of mosquitoes and flies which prevented them from going out on their balconies in the evenings.
