Conveniently located right on route 89, Lake Powell Days Inn offers reliable chain hotel style accommodation close to Glen Canyon and other recreation areas. The rooms are elegantly furnished and decorated, and feature air conditioning, flat screen TV with cable channels, fast Wi-Fi, minibar, tea/coffee maker, in-room safe, work desk and telephone. The outdoor pool and hot tub are the stars of the show, but those keeping out of the sun will find a charming lobby lounge in which to relax. Business travelers have a center dedicated to their needs. Days Inn’s signature “Daybreak” continental breakfast is served every morning. There are a few decent restaurants within walking distance including Canyon King Pizzeria, the place to go when looking for simple Italian fare. Some of the best sights in the Southwest are within a day's drive from the hotel. Glen Canyon Dam wall is just 25 miles to the north.
It was hard to find an unkind word written about the hotel’s staff. Guests were nearly unanimous in their agreement that the staff conducted themselves very well. They were said to be welcoming and friendly, but it was the extent to which they went in order to help that most impressed guests.
Whatever other small problems guests found with the hotel, and their rooms, cleanliness certainly wasn’t one of them. Several guests mentioned that it looked like the hotel was very well maintained and kept clean and orderly throughout.
While surprisingly, not mentioned by many guests, those who did bring it up certainly appreciated the on-site pool. They found it the perfect spot to cool down a bit after a long hot day seeing the sights.
While there were some compliments, the majority of guests did not seem to think much of the breakfast. In their mind it was a little too basic, without the sort of choices that might have generated some enthusiasm.
A great many guests reported that they felt they paid too much for their room. It wasn’t that they thought that the room, or the hotel, were bad in any way. It was just that, at the room rate they paid they expected quite a bit more.
Although the hotel is situated on the main road leading into town, some guests were disappointed to find themselves beyond walking distance of the town center and its amenities. It was a hassle to have to get in the car each time they wanted to visit a shop or restaurant.
