La Chartreuse du Bignac is a four-star hotel in a rural location near Saint Nexans. It is a member of the Châteaux et Hôtels Collection. Originally a 17th-century country house, it has been converted into a hotel providing accommodation in 12 guest rooms and a four-person apartment. Some of the rooms are in the main house, and some are in adjoining buildings. Each room is individually designed and both the guest rooms and public rooms retain period features and decoration, including tiled and parquet flooring. All rooms are equipped with en-suite facilities and free wifi. The public rooms consist of an entrance hall, restaurant, lounge, bar and library. The vaulted cellar is from an earlier 12th-century building and is used to house a wine bar and home cinema. Outside is a terrace, and the surrounding 12-hectare grounds include a swimming pool, vegetable garden and a large pigeon loft in the car park. Although in a secluded spot in the Périgord Pourpre, the hotel is nevertheless only 8 km south of Bergerac with its road links and airport.
