Situated just a short drive from both the Queen Mary and the beaches, La Bonita Inn is a motel-style property offering modern, comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation. La Bonita is mostly a single level property, with parking available near each room. The rooms are fairly basic in terms of décor and furnishings, but are modern and contain all you’ll need for a good night’s sleep. Each room features en-suite bathroom with hairdryer, flat screen TV with cable channels and a basic kitchenette. Reception is on-hand and can assist with car rental and providing local area information. There are also vending machines dispensing snacks and drinks on-site. There are no restaurants on-site, but there a couple of dining options within reasonably close driving distance. Reception staff can offer recommendations if required. Long Beach’s star attraction, the Queen Mary liner, is docked just 3.5 miles from the hotel, while the beach is four miles away.
While they did take issue with their size, guests were generally very impressed with the décor and furniture in their rooms. They felt that the rooms were very modern and comfortable and had all the facilities that they expected and more.
It was near impossible to find a bad word written about the manager. On the contrary guest after guest complimented him on being the perfect innkeeper, offering them a warm welcome and friendly advice and recommendations if requested.
Considering that the hotel is in an industrial area close to major roads, guests were expecting it to be a bit noisy. They were pleasantly surprised that it was actually reasonably quiet, especially at night, so allowing them to get some undisturbed sleep.
Many guests complained that they felt a bit cramped in the rooms. They liked the decor and design, but felt the rooms were too small to be truly comfortable.
Without a doubt this was the issue that most irked guest. Again and again they mentioned that the parking area was simply too tight. Those with SUV's were especially concerned that they would bump into other cars while getting into and out of the parking bays.
While guests certainly appreciated the TV's provided, which were said to be especially large flat screens, a surprising number had trouble getting access to the cable stations they expected. They seemed to sometimes be able to receive them and sometimes not, causing a great deal of frustration.
