Korona Pension is found in Budapest’s western Buda greenbelt, 15 minutes’ drive from the city centre. Bus links are found just outside this family-run hotel and Gellért Thermal Bath, Budapest Congress & World Trade Centre, Buda Castle and the Citadella can all be found within a 7.1 kilometre drive. All 23 rooms are equipped with private bathrooms, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, direct-dial phones, while hypo-allergenic bedding, baby cots and extra beds can be requested. Two self-catering apartments are also available. Guests can relax in Korona Pension’s private garden, take advantage of massage services, and make use of free self parking. Hot buffet breakfasts are served daily, as well as international and Hungarian dishes for lunch and dinner and there is a lobby bar. Budapest Airport is 26.4 kilometres away and Budapest Keleti Railway Station is about 9.5 kilometres away, or about half an hour by public transport.
Guests were very happy with Korona Pension’s combination of very good prices and quaint rooms, which nonetheless came with a full range of amenities, including free Wi-Fi, TV, fridge and even a balcony in some rooms.
Despite not being in the city centre, guests were generally fine with the 20 minutes or so bus ride into the city centre, simply took a taxi, and enjoyed the retreat of the leafy relaxed suburb after being downtown.
A few guests found the staff members to be some of the most cheerful and helpful they had met and the maps and plenty of city information they shared were found to come in handy.
The only real downside guests could see was the distance to the city centre and main tourist attractions, but this was not considered to be a serious problem due to the bus stop right outside and the overall quality for the price.
