Hotel Hacienda Del Caribe (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)

The hotel is very close to the main street, 5th Avenue, where they were able to see the shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel is also a couple blocks away from the beach, and it is close to the bus terminal.

The staff spoke good English so it was easy to communicate with them about information and questions. The staff were found to be friendly and understanding of guests. They would help with tickets and printing but also helped in other ways.

Guests enjoyed staying in a rustic and charming hotel that had uniqueness and character. The hotel had colourful tiles, a common garden with a pool and a hacienda feel to it. Guests enjoyed staying in the common areas of the hotel.

Although the hotel advertises that it has a lift in the building, guests mentioned there is no lift to speak of. It is false advertising and if people truly needed the lift they had to go through the trouble of finding another place.

Guests did not like that the rooms did not keep away the noise level from outside. There are nearby bars with people shouting and drinking until the late night hours.

Guests had a hard time with the air conditioning not working properly in the rooms. They had repair men come to check it and they would still have problems with it. The air conditioning did not work very well and the rooms needed general maintenance.
