Hotel Guardamar (Guardamar del Segura, Spain)

It's fair to say that it was its location that guests most liked about Guardamar. It is described as being just steps from the beach, which after all was what brought most to the area in the first place.

Though many guests did find the rooms a bit basic, they also acknowledged that they were in a terrific location, in a hotel with two pools and had certainly received at the very least fair value for the rate they paid.

While there were few reviews really raving about the food, there were almost none criticising it, a very rare occurrence. It seems that at the very least guests were well satisfied with the food served in the hotel's restaurant.

Although guests say that the immediate environmet of the hotel is actually pretty quiet, the walls between the rooms let the hotel down by being “paper thin”. Several guests speak of hearing voices and so on from adjacent rooms.

While this was purely a cultural issue, it didn't seem to make it any better for those who complained. Like many authentically Spanish hotels, this one served dinner fairly late. Some guests from regions were it is usual to eat dinner earlier had hoped that it would be served from an earlier time to accommodate other nationalities.

Surprisingly, this was mentioned by more than a couple of guests. It seems the lifts in Guardamar are especially slow. The reason was unknown, but the result left many guests waiting impatiently for a lift that seemed would never arrive.
