Hotel Gilbert's Resort (Key Largo, USA)

Gilbert's Resort and Marina is a fun place with a real great beach vibe. There's a private beach and it's right on the waterfront with a ton of water sports onsite, including jet skis, paddle boats, boat rentals. The marina also has boat docking and a fuel station. The motel's Tiki bar is great fun with good food, drinks and live entertainment and attracts both tourists and locals. Over all it's a great spot for a laid back relaxing stay.

Rooms are not fancy but are clean and comfortable with good beds and bedding. Those facing the waterfront are a good choice with balconies to enjoy the scenic view.

The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. The check-in and out process is easy. The bar and wait staff are also great and make sure that the atmosphere is light-hearted and fun.

Rooms at Gilbert's Resort and Marina are overpriced for the poor quality. They are small, run-down and dated in appearance with very small TVs. The bathroom are terrible, the showers have mold and are peeling. Don't be surprised if you also encounter roaches and bugs. While this isn't a five-star hotel, at the prices you expect better.

The air-conditioning isn't very effective. The rooms are quite humid and uncomfortable in hot weather.

Food at the Tiki bar is very average; also, you'll get swarmed by mosquitos while dining. Also, you can hear loud music playing from the bar until late at night.
