Hotel George (Frome, United Kingdom)

Can’t fault the staff. Warm welcomes on arrival and all the help you need to find your way round the George and the town itself. Ace!

Rooms are really pleasantly furnished in traditional style and they are kept very clean. Bed linen and towels are of good quality. If you are lucky enough to get a room with a balcony and flower filled hanging baskets, that’s a real bonus.

Breakfast is great with vegetarian options much better than normally expected. Daytime and evening menus are really appetising too and nothing is overpriced, so good value!

Access to rooms is via a mind boggling range of up and down stair routes. Interesting, but tiring for any elderly guests.

It’s quite a walk to the car park which may, in any case, be full.

Grubby paint work, ill fitting curtains and an overall impression that this room must surely be next on the list for refurbishment. Noisy plumbing, poor sound insulation between adjoining rooms etc. It doesn’t make for a happy stay.
