The dated and dark aspect to the rooms makes them appear even smaller than they actually are. They are a bit depressing and the bathrooms are dangerously tiny, particularly for larger people.
Possibly due to the somber decorations, rooms don't seem to be overly clean. This applies particularly to the bathrooms; although, they are small anyway, so if the cleaner is 'well proportioned'... there's the reason for that particular defect!!
Forget the 'old world charm', this place needs updating. It's an OK experience for a one-off visit and undeniably, everyone is so friendly and helpful. Whether you'd want to repeat the experience is another matter. Spending a bit more money to stay in a clean and modern room does have some appeal.
