Romantik Hotel Europe is just across the street from the prestigious Zürich Opera House and a four-minute walk from Stadelhofen train station. The landmark Grossmünster cathedral is a ten-minute stroll away
A great many travellers loved the fact that this hotel's location is a short walk from almost everything worth seeing in Zurich yet is far enough from the centre to be away from the noise that city life brings. Having the city's excellent tram and rail train system so close by was also considered a big plus point.
Courteous staff provide impeccable service
Polite, kind and well informed; the personnel here are exactly the kind of people you'd choose to have looking after your needs whilst you're away. Many visitors loved the fact that the receptionists greeted them by name!
Property has a great deal of charm
The vast majority of guests who've stayed here have been blown away by the hotel's slightly rarefied ambience and evocative old-world charm. Many travellers remarked that it was the perfect antidote to the ubiquitous, functional city centre hotels that have become increasingly common in recent years.
Lacklustre soundproofing can be a problem
Many visitors have reported that they could hear other guests talking and moving around in adjacent rooms far too easily. Evidently, this is an establishment where considerate neighbours can be deemed a luxury.
Bathrooms aren't the best
As well as being really quite small, travellers have noted that the bathrooms within the accommodations also have temperamental showers that can, at times, be a little hard to master.
Breakfast is a bit of a let down
A number of guests have said they were disappointed with the somewhat limited breakfast options offered here. Happily, there are plenty of cafes nearby, such as ‘The Studio' just across the street, where more plentiful alternatives can be found.
