The complimentary made-to-order breakfast was widely described as a cut above the bread and cereal-heavy continental affairs typically offered at chain hotels. The on-site Hoover Grille restaurant also received high marks from diners, as did the spacious bar and lounge area.

Guests overwhelmingly praised the hotel’s convenient location right off of highway I-495 and across the street from the Riverchase Galleria Mall. Many also cited the number of highly-rated eateries in the surrounding area.

For an upscale establishment, this hotel represents a great value for the size of the suites and amenities included in the price. The pool area is nice and well-kept, the rooms are spacious, and the Evening Reception “happy hour” with free drinks was highly appreciated.

The hotel’s convenient location comes at a price, as the nearby highway traffic and construction creates excessive noise. Light sleepers are recommended to request upper-floor rooms away from the roads and to bring ear plugs.

Many guests noted that the furnishings and decor are tired and would do well with an update. Commonly-cited issues include worn furniture, stained carpets, uncomfortable beds, leaky plumbing fixtures, and rough bed linens.

A number of reviewers experienced rudeness, slow service, or an overall unhelpful attitude from hotel staff. Other people reported issues with booking and check-in, such as being overcharged, receiving the wrong room, or booked suites not being ready on time.
