Hotel Elmhurst (Earley, United Kingdom)

While it seems that guests had a great many issues with the Elmhurst, most agreed that both their rooms and the public areas of the hotel were kept very clean at all times.

A large number of guests seemed to really appreciate the on-site parking. It is apparently quite tricky to find good parking in the area, so they were happy to have a spot waiting for them at their hotel when returning form their travels.

While, because of many issues they identified, they didn't go so far as to say it was good value, guests did concede that the room rates were very low for the area. They felt it may be a good option for someone just staying one night and not needing to spend much time at the hotel.

This was by far the most common, and most serious, complaint. It was not merely that the rooms were out of date, which guest said they were, but that the rooms, and the whole hotel, had fixtures and fittings that were broken with severe signs of wear throughout. In most guests mind, it needed a very thorough renovation.

Guests mentioned that it doesn't look like any sort of soundproofing has been used in the walls between rooms. It was said that conversations, and noise in general, from adjacent rooms can easily be heard.

A few guests mentioned that, whatever the official policy may be, guests smoked all manner of smokables in the hotel. Of course smoke isn't confined to a single room, so those who dislike the smell of smoke, or who are asthmatic, should take note.
