Hotel El Panama by Faranda Grand (Panama City, Panama)

Guests really enjoyed the pool at El Panama. There are always plenty of lounge chairs available, and cabanas can be reserved as well. The poolside bar is a relaxing spot to enjoy a drink at, even if you are not planning to swim.

El Panama boasts a terrific, central location, on Via Espana, one of the main downtown streets. Guests say there are plenty of places to eat in the area, and lots of great shopping to enjoy. The local neighborhood is very walkable and many parts of town can be reached on foot. If you choose not to walk though, there is also a subway stop within a block of the hotel.

Don’t miss out on the breakfast buffet – guests highly recommend it. The selection is rich and filling, with every bite as delicious as the next.

Guests think the hotel is definitely due for an update. The furniture looks dated and the décor doesn’t brighten the rooms. Guests also found various amenities out of order in their rooms.

Some of the standard rooms are smaller than guests expected, but most suites are viewed as very spacious. If you’re not staying solo, or are concerned about limited space, you may want to upgrade to a better room. In addition, many rooms also seem dark, due to lack of bright décor and proper lighting.

The hotel often hosts weekend events, with loud music at the pool area. Guests say it quiets down around midnight, but if you plan on heading to bed early, make sure to bring some earplugs.
