Hotel Days Inn By Wyndham Ames (Ames, USA)

The well-kept and cozy rooms at Days Inn Ames are cleaned frequently and to a high standard and guests reported that the beds and furnishings are comfortable and all amenities are properly-functioning.

Guests reported that the location of this hotel is excellent and almost everything they needed to access was within walking distance.  The university campus, restaurants and shops are all nearby and so is the downtown area.

Anything guests need, including extra items for rooms and suggestions on things to see and do in the area, is provided promptly and efficiently by very helpful and accommodating staff members.  Staff are always visible, they are always friendly when dealing with guests and they deal with issues in a professional manner.

Guests reported that there is a bad smell around the hotel and it mostly comes from cigarette smoke and mold.  Guests reported that the cigarette smoke is so bad that the pillows and bedding in the rooms smell like smoke.  Mold can actually be seen in some places and the smell from it can be detected pretty much all over the building.

The breakfast served each morning is of poor quality with little to choose from.  It features frozen items that need to be reheated in the microwave and unhealthy items such as white bread.  Guests also reported that items run out quickly and if you don't go down early, there's not much left.

The walls in the rooms are paper thin.  Guests reported being able to hear everything outside the room including conversations in the corridors, loud televisions, footsteps, doors opening and closing and traffic noise from the street outside.
