The rooms have been recently refurbished. Based on the reviews, it seems that guests approve of the new design, saying the rooms were looking very neat and contemporary.

Motorists were especially happy with the location, since it was so close to both the interstate and Highway 30. They found it convenient for getting around the area. Guests also mentioned that it was really easy to head into Ames and the University of Iowa. They certainly didn’t feel like they wee a world away from these places.

Even guests in rooms facing the highway mentioned that their rooms were relative havens of peace and quiet. They felt that they were well soundproofed against noise from without.

An astonishing number of guests felt that they paid far too much for their rooms. It wasn’t usually that they had any specific problem with what they got, just that in their mind it wasn’t worth anywhere near the room rate they paid.

As part of the room design, there are mirrors placed behind the beds, perhaps to give the room the impression of being bigger than it is. But whatever the reason, guests didn’t like them, with some even saying they “creeped them out”.

A very worrying number of guests reported major cleanliness issues with their room. Remaining pet and human hair was a very common complaint, but there were worse complaints than that. Guests simply felt that their room was not properly cleaned before they checked-in.
