Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach (Wilmington, USA)

There are no significant problems with the rooms. They are clean, welcoming and well maintained; much like all other areas of the hotel.

They are all pleasant, polite and extremely helpful. In addition, when dramas occur-and they do from time to time-there are individual staff members who really shine and go far beyond what must be in their Job Description, in order to help find a solution.

There are plenty of restaurants locally for evening dining. Shoppers won't be disappointed either and Wal-mart is really close by. If you want a night 'in', there are restaurants that operate a delivery service and the front-desk will advise the best one for you.

If you are unlucky enough to have a room on the 2nd floor, near the pool (*make sure you don't!), the loud music goes on until the early hours. Annoyingly, though, there's nobody in the pool area. Staff can't help; they don't know how to turn the volume down.

Apparently it all revolves around busy holiday periods when they can wring every last dollar out of guests by charging them for the otherwise free service. Guests booking innocently, expecting the widely publicized free breakfast meal, are destined to be disappointed .. and left only with a bad taste in their mouths!

WiFi is not just disappointing; its a real negative if you rely on it for business. Here, its unbelievably sluggish. Don't count on breakfast to alter your demeanor its barely adequate and doesn't merit any wasted anticipation on your part.
