If you're visiting Indy for one of its big events, then the Comfort Inn East Indianapolis makes a great base for getting to the nearby sports venues, exhibition centers and festival grounds. Plus, it's just off the interstate, so there's easy access in and out of town, and the free onsite parking makes the whole thing a breeze.

With hot waffles and eggs to get you going in the morning, it's hard to argue with the free breakfast provided here. Supplement your morning feast with endless hot coffee, and you'll be raring to go. Breakfast lasts for a long time as well, so late risers need not fear.

If you have an eye for style, then the design of the rooms here will please you. As well as the colorful, modern decor and furnishings, every contemporary amenity is in place, including a tablet computer that's there for you to use. For a low price, you get much more than budget quality.

Ok, so it has free parking and a small indoor pool, but if you like your hotels with all the bells and whistles, like gyms and business centers, then you may feel under-whelmed here. To be fair, the rooms are reportedly well-equipped, but there's nowhere to work out or hold meetings on-site.

Some guests are unhappy with the fact that the standard rooms only come with double beds, rather than the king or queen beds to which they are accustomed. If you like your beds big, then you'll have pay extra to upgrade to a king bed suite.

While the location's great for out-of-town events or easy access to the interstates, it's a bit of a drive into central Indy, so if you're coming to see the sights and are planning to spend a lot of your time downtown, then it might not be the best location, especially if you're not coming by car.
