The Colton Motel is in an ideal location in Gettysburg, perfect for sightseeing and shopping. The rates are easy on the wallet and guests enjoy the proximity to the attractions of the city. Museums like American Civil War and Lincoln Train are a block away. The Hall of Presidents and First Ladies popular for their wax figures, and the Jennie Wade House is only a ten minute stroll. The horse drawn carriage which gives a tour of the historical sights of Washington D.C. stops three blocks away from the motel.

The 25 rooms spread over two floors are simple and provide standard amenities like satellite TV and minifridge. Entrances are from the exterior of the building. Rooms are air conditioned. Bathrooms are private with bath or shower and hair dryer is provided. Housekeeping services are extended daily.

The motel has an outdoor pool for guests to enjoy relaxing swims. A sitting area is present where guests can lounge and meet other guests. The front desk staff is available all day. Guests are served complimentary continental breakfast. Parking as well as Wi-Fi access in the rooms and in public areas of the motel are free amenities provided.

The rooms are old and dirty. Everything is mismatched giving the impression that the rooms have been remodeled several times over the years. The plastering and the painting of the room are shabby. The carpets are torn, smelly and terribly dirty.

The bathrooms need renovation. The fixtures are shaky and the bath tub moves when a guest stands in it. Some tubs are cracked. Vents in the bathroom do not work. The towels provided are old and have holes in them.

The breakfast is served very early and guests coming in late are likely to miss it completely. The items served are rather limited too.
