Hotel Clarion Pointe University/Expo (Louisville, USA)

You can’t miss the hotel; it’s directly off the highway and couldn’t be better placed for a number of facilities and attractions. If going to a performance at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, or visiting the University of Louisville … then this is just the hotel for you.

It’s noticeable how friendly efficient everyone is here. Very helpful on arrival; check in goes like a dream. Service, overall, is tip-top. Breakfast is fine-much better than at many other hotels.

Rooms are very clean and well maintained. It’s all getting a bit old now, but members of staff work like mad to keep everything operating properly.

One of the areas in dire need of improvement is the bed ... and the mattress in particular. They are really old now and don’t be surprised if you get an early morning wake up alert from one of the springs that pokes through! The TV, too, has seen better days. Screen images are fuzzy.

There’s noise from the highway and from the gas station opposite. Inside, there’s no shortage of drink and drug fuelled noise through the night. Fellow guests have even been known to get their motor bikes revved up in the lobby! This is not a quiet hotel.

There are hygiene, rather than cleanliness, issues here. They are manifested by bed bugs and related bites. It could be cleaner, but that aspect isn't a huge concern. Smoking seems to be a common activity, so you’ll be taking the smell of that home, in addition to the bites!
