It's only a few hundred yards to the local train station and tram stop. The immediate area, though, is rich in shops, pubs, clubs, restaurants and bars. Choices are wide ranging to suit all tastes. The next door pub does great food, so you can't complain about having to walk to find a meal! There's a McDonalds close by too. It's a six-minute walk to Collingwood Station and then a journey of about a quarter of an hour to the CBD. A great location!
Staff members are friendly and helpful. Also and at these reasonable prices, there are two pleasing bonuses. First the complimentary breakfast and second … they even deliver it to your room.
Prices are extremely reasonable. Air conditioning here is very effective and a welcome relief when compared with inferior facilities in some, more expensive hotels.
You see things in a ‘bad light' when rooms aren't properly cleaned. This is a major negative factor in the stay here. Bed linen is stained and bedding gives the distinct impression of not having been changed. Crumbs of food and insects only serve to add to the impression that rooms are not all that they should be.
The publicity photos are way out of date and give a false impression of the motel which is, in fact, rather drab. You may be impressed by the presence of security cameras, but less so when it becomes apparent that none of them actually function.
You can hear conversations and other ‘events' - 'it's not cricket'! -in neighbouring rooms; a problem not helped by very creaky floorboards.
