Hotel Cedar Lodge (Exeter, United Kingdom)

Cedar Lodge provides very reasonably priced rooms that other nearby hotels struggle to beat. On top of being great value, the city centre and train station can be reached in 15 minutes’ walk.

This hotel stands out for its excellent customer service and the friendliness of the staff that work here. It really does feel more welcoming than many of the modern chain hotels.

Not only is breakfast served for a whole three hours, between 7am and 10am, but there is a fantastic range of food available too. Choose from a full English breakfast, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, tea and coffee.

You might find the bathroom in your room simply too small for comfort, and don’t expect lots of room for your toiletries. All of the bathrooms are slightly different, so you may want to check it first and request a change if you feel it is not adequate.

This hotel has certainly seen better days. Generally the rooms are clean and presentable, but the overall decor of the hotel is dated. It has an undeniably old feeling to it and would benefit from being modernised.

Located close to the River Exe on the west side of the city, Cedar Lodge is in one of the less desirable areas of Exeter. There is little of interest in the immediate area and it is best left unexplored, especially at night.
