Situated on a quiet square, The Ca Dei Dogi is nonetheless just steps from the Bridge of sighs, and within walking distance of most of Venice’s main attractions. It is housed in a 15th century palazzo, which has been given a thoroughly modern interior renovation. The six rooms seamlessly blend antique wood furniture and exposed beams, with all the modern conveniences expected. There are also two apartments for guests who need more space, or want to experience the ultimate luxury. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Breakfast is served on-site, while the Taverna dei Dogi, right next door, is highly recommended for dinner in a refined classical Venetian atmosphere. Incredibly central, the Ca Dei Dogi is just one minutes’ walk from St. Mark’s Square. Also, mere steps from the Grand Canal where you can catch vaporetto to anywhere in Venice.
Guests couldn't speak highly enough of the excellent location, virtually on top of the Bridge of Sighs, the Grand Canal and St Mark's Square. Even more amazing was that they found the noise level to be relatively low in such a central location.
Many guests comment that the hosts, Stefano and Susanna, are unfailingly friendly, and offer great practical advice on how best to get around Venice and what to see.
The breakfast is not only described as quite good, but it's also mentioned that the staff are prepared to help guests who need to leave extremely early, or wake up late, to still enjoy a great pre-prepared breakfast. This was a level of service that was enormously appreciated.
While there where very few complaints about Ca Dei Dogi, a couple of people did comment that their room was a bit too small - especially those booked in on the ground floor. Considering the location, however, most did not have an issue. Also, as is common in small rooms, guests found the shower stall to be, relatively speaking, even smaller - comically so in some cases.
Weary travellers were a bit disheartened when, after a long day of walking around the city, they still had to negotiate a steep, narrow staircase to get to their rooms. While it wasn't an issue for most, those with mobility issues should take note, and perhaps ask for a room on the ground floor.
A couple of guests mentioned that the Wi-Fi signal was a bit weak, especially on the top storey. It gets better as you descend, but the feeling was that it should be enhanced to allow all guests proper access.
