The Blackfin Resort and Marina in Marathon is set on a private beach and has lovely surroundings of tropical growth and colorful flowers. Guests accommodated in the resort can indulge in various water activities like diving trips, boating and fishing. Many places of interest are within walking distances like the Crane Point Museum and Nature Center. Other attractions include Deep Blue Dive Center and Dolphin Research Center both within seven kilometers of the resort. .

There are varied rooms and apartments to suit the needs of guests. The rooms are sound proofed and air conditioned. Pillow top beds are present. Features like satellite flat screen TV, microwave and minifridge are provided. Bathrooms are en suite and have shower or tub and hair dryer. Suites and some rooms have added kitchenettes. .

The hotel has an outdoor pool for guests to enjoy relaxing swims. The private beach of the hotel provides the beach experience. Guests can avail of the water activities provided by the hotel and indulge in dive trips, fishing and boating in one location. A nightclub takes care of the entertainment of guests. Laundry facilities are extended as well. A casual restaurant and bar take care of the dining needs of guests. Cook out and picnic with barbecue grills available is possible. .

Rooms are not swept every day and there is sand on the floors as guests visit the marina often. Beds are broken and guests are afraid of falling down. The air conditioner unit is very noisy. .

The pool water is not filtered and dirty. Scuba training is given in the mornings at the pool and it is unavailable for use by the guests at the time. The hotel is dated and overpriced for the facilities provided. Breakfast is not included, which is surprising for a resort. .

Wi-Fi speed is very slow and most of the time works only at the beach and in the laundry areas. .
