Hotel Best Western Carlisle South (Carlisle, USA)

It's got everything you could want. Top of the list; it's clean, welcoming and well maintained. Rooms are good without being OTT ... but who wants OTT?.

All staff, at all levels, are ultra helpful. They are a huge feature in the enjoyment of any stay here. There are quite a few events held at the inn and again, it's very noticeable how hard the staff work and how good they are at ensuring the smooth running of things.

The Daybreak breakfast is fairly standard stuff but there's a good choice and it's well presented. As with other areas of the inn, there's a good and friendly atmosphere. Just what you need to start the day ... but rarely get, elsewhere!

It seems that the restaurant is a separate entity. It's situated next door and doesn't have many redeeming features.

From the leisure guests' angle, this area is more commercial with a heavy emphasis on the trucking trade. Some may find this not to be conducive to a holiday break and prefer a hotel at the other end of town.

There are deficiencies in the rooms. Cleaning in the bathrooms needs revising to cover removal of accumulated grime from the bath tub and shower, plus accompanying mold. Some elements of the refrigerator are missing, the microwave doesn't function properly and noisy pipes indicate poor plumbing ... and sleepless nights to come. Happy days!
