Hotel Berkeley City Club (Berkeley, USA)

Although the hotel is located in a popular part of Berkeley, guests said that the rooms were very quiet and that they couldn't hear the outside street noise, making for a peaceful stay.

The building is beautiful and full of history. The hotel offers tours of the grounds that tell you the history of the place. Guests liked the details in the building, the garden and the library area, saying it was like staying in a museum.

If you need to be near University of California, Berkeley, this is an easy place to stay because it's so close to campus. Situated right in downtown Berkeley, the City Club is accessible to shops, downtown attractions, the Berkeley BART and restaurants.

Guests expressed surprise that for what they paid at the hotel, there was no TV in their room. They said the rooms were too austere and simplistic, and that for the rates they were charged, they expected better rooms with more amenities.

The shower takes a long time to warm up, some guests lamented. They said the water system was inefficient and wasted water considering there's a long-running drought in California. Some even reported having to take cold showers. They said this was unacceptable.

Several guests complained that their Wi-Fi connection was problematic in their rooms. They reported that it either malfunctioned completely or was too slow to function. It couldn't stream Netflix.
