Sleep below art. This house, built in 1918, was a long time artists’ workshop before morphing into the oasis within bustling Santiago it is today. With more than 60 artworks by Chilean contemporary artists; four beautifully decorated, comfortable bedrooms; peaceful, central patio; WiFi; and fully-equipped kitchen, Bellavista Home is more than a place to stay – it’s a home away from home experience in the heart of Santiago. Barrio Bellavista is neighborhood located beneath San Cristóbal Hill on the north bank of the Mapocho River. This sector straddles Recoleta and Providencia, two larger neighborhoods meeting at Pío Nono street. Bellavista, which includes the zone of La Vega Central, was known as “La Chimba”, a name of Quechuan origin meaning “the other side”, referring to its location across river. Here, there were several indigenous settlements, some dedicated to servitude and others to handicraft, while today the Bellavista is characterized by its mix of international fine dining, popular bars, and cultural centers.
