Hotel Bass River (South Yarmouth, USA)

Bass River's owners have been serving Cape Cod visitors for more than 50 years and guests say this experience is reflected in the motel's warm and friendly atmosphere. The combination of Cape Cod style wood paneling, traditional mullioned windows and clean and comfortable rooms won praise from many guests who preferred Bass River's quirky charm to more anonymous chain establishments.

Guests were pleasantly surprised by Bass River's reasonable room rates and thought the motel offered great value, especially on Cape Cod where prices tend to run high. They appreciated the in-room refrigerators and microwaves and described accommodations as clean and simple. Guests had high praise for the friendly and helpful owners.

Guests who stayed at the motel for a night or two while visiting Cape Cod described the location as one best things about the motel. With Hyannis just 15 minutes away and a short stroll to Cape Cod beaches and attractions, the motel was a perfect base for a relaxing stop.

Some guests hoping for a swim were disappointed to find the pool was closed for repair. This was particularly a problem for guests with children. Hopefully, this won't be an ongoing issue.

Despite Bass River's budget prices, some guests felt the accommodations were a little too basic. They complained about uncomfortable beds, thin pillows, insufficient towels and small bathrooms. Guests had issues with slow internet connection, antiquated TVs and the lack of coffee makers, hair dryers and irons in the rooms.

Some guests described the Bass River motel as a bit dated and dowdy, others said the rooms smelled musty and noted that the plug in air fresheners only made things worse, especially for those with allergies to perfume.
